I used to spend hours as a child creating things. There was silk painting, book binding, leather work, flower arranging, sewing, embroidering, drawing, painting, knitting, beading, woodwork, pottery, clay modeling and most importantly, day dreaming. Some I did at school, some at home.

Then came exams, university and talk about careers. Somewhere along the line, I stopped making things. In an attempt late 2007-2008 to move my career forward by studying accountancy, my passion for making things flared up. Overtaken by the urge to use my hands again, I’ve begun to turn back towards what I love most about life: creating.

This blog is a running commentary on what I do and how.

I’m living in Egypt at the moment so my supplies are usually particular to what is available here.

  1. Hello Anna,

I found your site looking for Egyptian cotton or textiles.Very pleasant to surf on your site. I was in Egypt in February and fall in love with this country and the people and culture and and and. Like you I love create things. I continue exploring your site and would love to communicate with you. I was in Cairo but too and saw most of the touristic items, unfortunately no time to shop, but we come back next year.

    Greetings from Holland

    Elly
